Vayikra Sinning BeShogeg - Accidentally On Purpose
Nefesh Ruach Neshamah need clarification, was it accidental that we sinned, so why do we speak with this parable of sinning against ME, which refers to intentional sin. Also, offering a korban via holy books is that in essence it’s the sinner’s broken heart. Psalm 51 - G-d does not reject/despise a broken, humble heart. As long as someone’s heart is unbroken, the fire on the Mizbeach was shaped like a dog. Then when the heart broke it resembled a lion in its shape, as his korban was accepted willfully.
Ramban: Think that all that happens to this animal should have been done to you, offering its blood, etc. When the innards and kindneys are burnt, the organs of thought and desire- should have been your body. Because your heart is broken it’s the korban tat is offered, goes up as reach nichoach.
Q - If the korban is for the unintentional, why be brokenhearted.
A - If a person has a connection to G-d he won’t sin even accidentally because he’s watched over from Above. If one falls into sin it’s because he’s detached himself from the Deveykut and automatically the guarding is lost. Medrash Tanchumah says- “Even without intent is not good,” even accidental sin is an issue, not good, bad sign. Alshich explains this, it’s a sign that something is not good with the soul-nefesh. When it’s good he’s watched from Above and doesn’t even do shogeg.
The Chassid Taavetz explains too that there’s a korban because shogeg only happens due to distraction- hesech hadaat. That’s the blemish, turning thought/focus, detaching from G-d. Then the Shmirah Elyonah gets removed and the accidental sin can happen.
At first a person does things with guilt, but that distances him from G-d, and removes the Shmirah Elyonah, though there’s no onesh - punishment for it. Then this leads to slipping into a cheit bishgagah, worse. This is the idea of the Daat Zekeinim’s moshol - the nefesh is from the palace of the King and understands/knows/is aware of the goodness of G-d. The soul has Dveikus, the body is a nachri. Upon doing deeds tat cause separation it leads to tripping beshogeg.
Oleh is for hirhur halev, say Chazal. The idea of this is that there’s Shmirah Elyonah even for thoughts. But since a person does distancing things, he gets distanced and comes to these thoughts.
Korban is like the word sounds, to get close to G-d again, to be Davuk with Hashem again. This is the purpose of the korban. Korbanot were the first thing Hashem spoke to Moshe about from the Ohel Moed! This includes a Jew’s working to not lose the shmirah. And if you get distanced, bring a korban and get closer again. As Rambam writes re Teshuvah, yesterday this person was distant from Hashem and and today he is cleaving to Him, as it says “You who are close - Ve’Atem HaDeveikim…” This was the first thing told to Moshe…
Kedoshim Tehiyu is relevant to this too. I am Holy and it’s upon you to be close to Me and holy to. As per R Menachem Mendel of Vitebsk: Any pleasure we get, even if it’s allowed, it is nargen, madrid, aluf - a complainer, separate from G-d, separating between a person and G-d. Divrei Shmuel on Vetamei tamei yikrah, which is shouted as warning by the tamei person. It means one tumah brings down an additional tumah, because the first tumah took away the shmirah. And it’s a good trait to increase kedushah, as it brings additional kedushah. This is the meaning of of, “Make yourself holy and you ill be made more holy.” The designation of a person is to become closer to G-d, and any sin, even things that done a punishment - oneshconnected to them, distances one from G-d. Then the guarding is lost and sinning beshegagah happens.
For this reason pre-Pesach a korban is brought, which is unique to Shabbos and holidays. The idea of Pesach is our being chosen then by G-d, taken as His Chosen People. Every year the segulah - empowerments of the holiday come. To eter this chag we need to get closer to G-d beforehand, via the korban. The krban protects you from being nargen, etc.
Bloods- Pesach and Milah: Emunah and Kedushah. Thi was their preparation for being Chosen People. So too every year the idea-inyan of Chosen People comes about anew and we have to prepare via a korban.
The pnimiyut of the service - inner essence of the korban Pesach applies now, that we need to prepare to be Chosen. In the days pre Pesach we prepare. As the holy books say - 30 days of prep means ridding oneself of one thirtieth of the tum’ah in us and then bring ourselves into the holy chambers, possibly.
This is the power of this first month, rishon hu - the head of the months. There’s a segulah - empowerment to become new, a faithful child in the Chosen People.
